RWI Inspection for Uganda-Bound Used Vehicles

Please be advised that the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has mandated for a new pre-export Roadworthiness Inspection (RWI) of used vehicles imported from Japan, the United Kingdom, Singapore, and South Africa. Because of this recent development, all used vehicles exported from these countries will be required to be inspected by JEVIC from November 1, 2009 (date of export) before they can enter Uganda.

In this regard, IBC Japan would like to inform you that for units confirmed starting October 10, additional charges will be added for CIF pricing to cover JEVIC inspection. For your peace of mind and convenience, IBC Japan will arrange for your purchased vehicles to be JEVIC inspected in our yard before shipment to Uganda. Certified JEVIC inspectors will conduct a thorough inspection on vehicles bound for Uganda, and an official JEVIC certificate will be issued for every vehicle that passes the inspection.

However, for units confirmed before October 10 and booked for shipment before November 1, JEVIC Inspection is not yet required and additional fees are therefore waived.

Please do not hesitate to contact us for more details on how this new regulation may affect you.

For more information about this recent development, please visit the JEVIC website at www.jevic.com.
